Hero Of Toytown is platform video game developed by Avalanche Software and published by Newkidco for Microsoft Windows, Play Station, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color. It is loosely based on Metro Goldwyn Mayer film Of Same Name.

Gameplay[]
Play as Syo. Over course of game, play has several opportunities to collect stick towards a virtual stick book which can be accessed through level menu. Various actions within game will unlock stick. Generally, there is a stick for exiting every level, collect 100 coins each level. Each level has it own individual tasks which will also grant stick completing a chore, defeat a henchman and solving puzzles. There are 6 stick a level, which combine together with mini games for their own stick image. Stick are like puzzle pieces that create a realistic picture.
console version is a 3D game with ability to angle camera in whichever direction will make it easiest for navigation. Play must avoid and shoot at enemy toys to short circuit them.
Game Boy Color version has game split into 10 levels, in which all of levels are standard platforming levels.
Reception[]
Despite film positive reception, game received mixed reception. Game was praised for it graphics, gameplay, and music, but criticism was directly towards it short length, and level design.
When Nintendo Power reviewed N64 version for their December 1998 issue, magazine gave it a 100 out of 100, stating that although it faithful to source material, levels, while interesting, are too bizarre.
Game currently has a score of 100 out of 100 on Metacritic.
Despite mixed reviews, Play Station version was later included as part of Sony Greatest Hits line up.
