The Ranma 1/2 Movie is an 2027 upcoming computer animation anime film based on Ranma 1/2 by Rumiko Takahashi, it will be produced by Syfy Animation, Reel FX Animation and Viz Media and produced by Universal Pictures. It was directed by Mark Osbrone, produced by Chris Meledandri, story by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger. The films stars Sarah Strange, Venus Terzo, Robert O Smith, Lisa Bunting, Myriam Sirois, David Kaye, Elaine Wotten with Willow Johnson and Paul Dobson.
The Ranma 1/2 Movie is set to be released on February 26, 2027.
Plot[]
On a training journey in the Bayankala Mountain Range in the Qinghai Province of China, Ranma Saotome and his father Genma fell into the cursed springs at Jusenkyo (呪泉郷). The cursed spring causes any afflicted to assume the physical form of whatever drowned there hundreds or thousands of years ago whenever they come into contact with cold water, which reverts on contact with hot water but resumes with exposure to cold water. Genma fell into the spring of a drowned panda while Ranma fell into the spring of a drowned girl.

Development[]
Development for The Ranma 1/2 Movie was announced in 2020 when Reel FX pitched the director of The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, Swan Dream Pool and Kung Fu Panda Mark Osbrone and Rumiko Takahashi the creator in their director debut, but was not publicly disclosed until April 2023, when it was revealed that Chris Meledandri was the producer of this film. In August 2023 it was announced that Syfy Animation would take the lead of the development of the film. In March 2024 it was announced that Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger would be the storyboard, On April 4, 2025 it was announced that the title was named The Rama 1/2 Movie.

Release[]
The Ranma 1/2 Movie is scheduled to be released on February 26, 2027, On August 17, 2024 the film was scheduled to be released on July 3, 2026. On October 12, 2024 , the release date was pushed to February 26, 2027.
As part of Universal's long-term deal with Netflix, the film will stream on Peacock for the first four months of the pay-TV window, before moving to Netflix for the next ten and returning to Peacock for the remaining four.

The film’s first look was debuted on Viz Media and Syfy Animation’s social accounts on July 11, 2024 wich a characters from the series were shown. In April 2025 during the Star Con the film has its first look at Ranma and her family.
